Grootfontein Municipality plans to relocate 65 families currently residing in single quarters to new social housing units. The relocation, initially scheduled for last year, was delayed due to the installation of prepaid water meters and some families lacking deeds of sale.

The Grootfontein Municipality plans to roll out development activities and projects in 2025 that will enhance the socio-economic status of the town and improve residents' well-being.

The Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, and Hardap Governor Salomon April discussed possible cooperation in agriculture, social housing, and education to improve the lives of the inhabitants.

They deliberated on these when Weiping paid a courtesy call on the governor.
