OSHILUNGA SHONKOSHI GETS ACCESS TO POTABLE WATER

The lack of potable water for the Oshilunga Shonkoshi community, a remote village in the Oshana Region, is now a thing of the past.

The community previously relied on water from wells and floodplains during the rainy season and made long journeys to Onaanda using donkey carts to purchase potable water.

Villagers at Mateke in the Kavango East Region need potable water.

The villagers claim that their lives are at risk due to human-wildlife conflict. 

The villagers say they walk about five kilometres to fetch water and are prone to being attacked by crocodiles.

Oikuku, Ohamukwata now have potable water

Residents of Oikuku and Ohamukwata villages in the Ohangwena Region now have access to potable water after three decades of waiting.

The project is being carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform and the Office of the Prime Minister at a cost of N$3.6 million.
