TOINI HAUSIKU LAID TO REST

Former deputy mayor of Rundu, Toini Hausiku, was buried at the Mbunza Royal Cemetery at Kapako in the Kavango West Region over the weekend. 

Hausiku, who was also the widow of liberation struggle icon Marco Hausiku, died on the 19th of July in a Windhoek hospital from cancer.

The Father Tjijombo St. John's Faith Mission in Windhoek organised a candlelight remembrance in honour of the life of the late Archbishop Petrus Tjijombo.

Archbishop Tjijombo died in 2023 on 16 July, and the candlelight ceremony formed part of activities to commemorate his life and legacy.

More than 400 copies of a pictorial book celebrating Namibia’s Founding President, Sam Nujoma, will be distributed to libraries and schools nationwide.

The handover took place on 12 May, commemorating Nujoma’s 97th birthday.
