President Nangolo Mbumba describes the late Katrina Hanse-Himarwa as a champion of justice, equity, and unity.

Former Minister of Education, Arts, and Culture Katrina Hanse-Himarwa was laid to rest in Mariental this morning. 

The funeral was attended by President Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and other senior government officials. 

President Nangolo Mbumba has described the late Katrina Hanse-Himarwa as a pivotal figure in the nation's quest for freedom who was devoted to the pursuit of national development and accessible education.

One of the longest streets in Mariental was today renamed Katrina Hanse-Himarwa Street. 

Urban and Rural Development Deputy Minister Evelyne !Nawases-Taeyele said the street naming is a testament to Hanse-Himarwa's legacy and impact. 

Namibians are remembering the former Education Minister, Katrina Hanse-Himarwa, who died on Sunday for her contribution to the country's education system.

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Tanidare Lutheran Church in Windhoek's Soweto over the weekend to pay their last respects to the late former minister of education, Katrina Hanse-Himarwa, during the final memorial service. 

Katrina Hanse-Himarwa's tenure as Minister of Education was marked by her relentless pursuit of quality education.

These are the sentiments of Deputy Minister Faustina Caley, who says Hanse-Himarwa was a dedicated educator who initiated many noteworthy programmes while serving as minister.

The Swapo Party Secretary General, Sophia Shaningwa, has described the late Katrina Hanse-Himarwa as a dedicated freedom fighter and servant of the people. 

The party conveyed its message of condolences to the family.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Peter Katjavivi, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of former Member of the National Assembly and former Minister of Education, Arts, and Culture, Katrina Hanse-Himarwa.
