President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has extended condolences to the Algerian nation following the death of former president Liamine Zeroual, who died on 28 March.

Continued efforts to strengthen Namibia's diplomatic presence are set to advance, with one country expected to open an embassy in Namibia in the coming weeks.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says Namibia does not forget countries and movements that supported Namibia's liberation struggle.

She emphasised that the country's independence was built on global solidarity. 

Ten countries have reaffirmed diplomatic relations with Namibia, identifying priority areas of cooperation including trade, tourism, infrastructure development, and various exchange programmes.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will be visiting Russia this year.

This was announced by the Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, during a joint press conference with Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

The Embassy of China hosted their 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Namibia, which coincided with the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has said the diplomatic relations between Namibia and Spain have seen growth in different portfolios, much to the benefit of the citizens of both countries.

Namibia and Egypt have reaffirmed their shared commitment to African unity, development, and human-centred cooperation during the celebration of Egypt's 73rd anniversary of independence at a diplomatic reception in Windhoek.

A delegation from the Parliament of Sao Tome and Principe visited Namibia's National Assembly on Thursday to strengthen ties between the parliaments of the two countries.

The visit was led by Domingos Boa Morte, the Secretary General of the São Tomé Parliament.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has concluded her working visit to South Africa.

During her visit earlier today, President Nandi Ndaitwah met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
