During a cabinet briefing on Monday, the Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources explained that the ministry's mandate is to sustainably manage aquatic resources and promote the aquaculture sector in Namibia.

The Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises says the current structure of the ministry is no longer fit for purpose and is being reviewed.

Namibia National Reinsurance Corporation (NamibRe) has grown its assets from N$210 million to more than a billion dollars in twenty years. 

Managing Director Patty Karuaihe-Martin revealed this during an update on the organisation's strategic operations at the Government Information Centre (GIC).
