Namibia joined the rest of the world in commemorating World Wetlands Day and World Water Day in Windhoek today.

Speakers at the event said there is a growing need to safeguard wetlands as a way to address water scarcity while advancing gender mainstreaming in water management.

Namibia and Norway are strengthening cooperation on several fronts, including their joint work on the High-Level Panel for the Sustainable Ocean Economy, known as the Ocean Panel.

Norwegian Embassy Counsellor Ørnulf Strøm paid a courtesy call on President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House.

Addressing the project relaunch, Gaudentia Kröhne said the gathering brought together players in the sector to nurture initiatives.
