Namibia's archives and records management sector is facing significant challenges that could threaten the preservation of the country's history and institutional memory.

Speaker of the National Assembly Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila said the National Assembly is not just renaming rooms and halls within but is breathing life into Namibia's shared history and common purpose by bestowing the names of forebearers upon the spaces where democracy is anchored. 

The seventh annual Nama Cultural Festival concluded on Saturday in Keetmanshoop with large crowds filling the grounds, including members of the Nama community, residents from various parts of the country and international tourists.

Gaob Dawid Hanse has called on the Nama community to embrace and protect their cultural identity.

He made the call during the official opening of the 7th edition of the Nama festival in Keetmanshoop on Friday.
