GOVT CALLS ON LOCAL BUSINESSES TO REGISTER FOR PROCUREMENT

The Namibian government has called on local manufacturers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to register to take part in the procurement process to supply goods to government stores.

The initiative aims to, among others, promote local production and create jobs.

The Namibia Local Business Association (NALOBA) has expressed concern over the recent decision by NamWater to award a major water pipeline tender of N$237 million to a Chinese company.

NALOBA said NamWater bypassed competent local businesses.
