Namibia is at a critical stage in its emerging oil and gas sector, with billions of dollars in potential investment and job creation opportunities at stake.

This was the view of officials at the inaugural National Upstream Oil and Gas Local Suppliers Workshop hosted by Petrofund.

The Petroleum Training and Education Fund (PETROFUND) has awarded scholarships to 13 trainees enrolled in electrical and boilermaking technical training programmes at the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology's (NIMT) southern campus in Keetmanshoop, aiming to help them secure meaningful employment. 

As Namibia's oil and gas sector gains momentum, there is a strong focus on developing the necessary skills for its success.
