The Petroleum Training and Education Fund (PETROFUND) has awarded scholarships to 13 trainees enrolled in electrical and boilermaking technical training programmes at the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology's (NIMT) southern campus in Keetmanshoop, aiming to help them secure meaningful employment.
This year alone, PETROFUND has granted scholarships to 90 students pursuing studies both locally and internationally.
Addressing the scholarship handing-over ceremony, PETROFUND CEO Nillian Mulemi said the scholarship initiative supports the development of local skills in line with Namibia’s growing oil and gas industry.
She underscored the education fund and its partners’ commitment to building capacity within the oil and gas sector.
