Finance Minister Erica Shafudah has announced that NamRA has been instructed to ensure that they improve on the processing of refunds, with the period for processing refunds having been reduced from 90 to 60 days.

The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) has announced that its beneficiaries will receive their tax relief refunds on November 28, in line with the recently enacted Income Tax Amendment Act.

The Trade Union Congress of Namibia (TUCNA) is accusing both the Finance Ministry and NamRA of dumping their responsibility of paying the imminent tax refunds to the employers, a situation the union says might not be handled well by some employers.
