The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN), Rolf Hansen, says cervical cancer remains a huge challenge in Africa, and Namibia is no exception.

The founder of the Gift of Life Foundation, Caroline Engelbrecht, has invited community leaders to work together with other stakeholders in the fight against the use of harmful substances.

Dr Engelbrecht made this call during the Women's Conference at Osona Village, Okahandja.

Namibia's National Cancer Registry (NNCR) has been included in the latest edition of the Global Cancer Atlas, a data project developed by the American Cancer Society in partnership with the World Health Organisation and the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

Early detection can save lives, according to Namibia's first radiation oncologist, Dr. Peggy Emvula, who has dedicated nearly four decades to caring for cancer patients in the country. 

Dr. Emvula's career is marked by groundbreaking achievements, tireless dedication, and deep compassion.
