The Minister of Industries, Mines, and Energy has highlighted that placing upstream petroleum under the Presidency's Upstream Petroleum Unit is a strategic move aimed at safeguarding Namibia's emerging oil and gas sector.

The third Namibia Oil and Gas Conference was launched in Windhoek today (Monday).

The conference aims to identify how to position Namibia from exploration to action in the industry and to ensure that the country becomes a leader in the sector, delivering real benefits for Namibians.

The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has emphasised its commitment to finding a path to develop the Venus Field in Block 2913B (PEL 56). 

These are in collaboration with its joint venture (JV) partners, Impact Oil & Gas, Qatar Energy, and TotalEnergies.
