The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has emphasised its commitment to finding a path to develop the Venus Field in Block 2913B (PEL 56).

These are in collaboration with its joint venture (JV) partners, Impact Oil & Gas, Qatar Energy, and TotalEnergies.

The corporation’s public relations specialist, Utaara Hoveka, updated the media on yet another prospective exploration in Marula-1x, which was unsuccessful. However, the Venus field development continues at an accelerated pace while targeting early 2026 for the Final Investment Decision (FID).

Hoveka also announced that the JV partners have embarked on an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process to support this development.

“Stakeholder engagement sessions were successfully conducted between 7 and 30 April 2025 in different locations, mainly in the Erongo and Kharas regions, reflecting the JV’s commitment to responsible and transparent development practices.”

Hoveka further expressed the partnership's continued confidence in the Venus discovery and its commercial potential, which will reinforce Namibia’s position as a globally significant hydrocarbon province.
