Namibia Breweries Limited has met with President Nangolo Mbumba to discuss matters related to the brewery's business. 

This follows the last meetings held with the late President since Heineken became its main shareholder. 

The visit encompasses the business' duty to the Namibian nation, as one of the largest beer producers in the country, to update President Mumba on its business.

President Mbumba welcomed the business executives at the statehouse in honour of the partnership between government and the private sector.

The Ambassador of China paid a courtesy visit to President Nangolo Mbumba, updating the head of state on developments between the two countries. 

President Mbumba assured the ambassador of Namibia's continued commitment to solid relations with China.

Dr. Mbumba emphasised that his goal was to ensure that what the late President Hage Geingob had started would be seen through to its end, saying Namibia-China relations counted among those priorities. 

The domestic economy is expected to expand by 3.7% in 2024 and is forecast to further grow by 4.1% in 2025, indicating a positive trajectory for the country's economic landscape.

This projection was given in the Bank of Namibia's (BoN) Economic Outlook update for March 2024, shedding light on the nation's economic prospects.

On a global scale, the economic outlook remains tepid for 2024, with a slight improvement anticipated in 2025. This projection, the central bank says, is influenced by factors such as elevated central bank policy rates to combat inflation.

The Namibia Revenue Authority (NamRA), is under scrutiny as stakeholders raise concerns about the organisation's failure to live up to its full potential and operational efficiency.

While the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) is acknowledged for its positive aspects, critics argue that NamRA could enhance its performance within the ITAS system to better serve taxpayers and businesses.
