The wastewater infrastructure in Koës Village is facing severe strain, with the oxidation ponds on the brink of overflowing and contaminating underground water. 

This was revealed by the Koes Village Council Acting CEO Johannes Brand during the council's engagement with the Governor of ||Kharas Region.

A Nama Evangelist, Paul Plaatjies, was executed by the German authorities in Koës in 1905 after being accused of spying.

His descendant Dawid Plaaitjies recounted his story and called for his legacy to be recognised.
Plaatjies devoted his life to Christianity and spread the word across.

The adverse opinion is the most severe audit outcome and effectively signals that the financial statements do not present a fair reflection of the council's financial position.
