President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called for fast-tracking the Occupational Health and Safety Bill to protect mine workers.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah encouraged mining companies to provide post-retirement medical support for employees affected by occupational diseases and injuries.

The Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations (MoJLR) commemorated World Day for Safety and Health at Work this week, highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing, workplace safety and stronger support systems for employees.

Employees of Namib Poultry Industry - NPI  staged a demonstration on Tuesday, raising serious concerns over workplace safety, wages, and union recognition.
