The Ministry of Health and Social Services has launched a national polio vaccination campaign to demonstrate its readiness to prevent the return of polio in the country.

The campaign is to strengthen preventive measures and to protect communities.

Thousands of Namibian children will receive shoes over the next three years through Project Never Walk Alone's nationwide rollout targeting regions with high numbers of barefoot learners.

The initiative aims to assist 31,500 children between 2026 and 2028, according to the organisation's media release.
