The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) has gazetted new regulations under the Health Professions Act of 2024, which was published in May this year. The regulations upgraded the admission requirements for nurses.

Fillipus is an enrolled nurse at the Katutura Intermediate Hospital in Windhoek, and getting there was not an easy ride.

The Oshakati Hospital joined the rest of the world in celebration of International Nurses Day, recognising the selfless contribution that nurses continue to make towards the health and wellbeing of communities.

The day also honours the legacy of Florence Nightingale as the founder of modern nursing.
