President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has paid tribute to Cuba's former president, Raul Castro, who celebrates his 95th birthday on June 3rd, describing it as an important milestone.

Former Cuban President Raul Castro today celebrates his 95th birthday against the backdrop of ever-increasing pressure from the United States government, underlined by a US Department of Justice indictment. 

Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla has hit back at the United States after Washington filed criminal charges against former Cuban President Raúl Castro over the 1996 downing of two aircraft operated by the group "Brothers to the Rescue."
