Namibia has urged immediate, concrete steps to reform global governance and strengthen multilateral cooperation as member states gather to take stock of the Pact for the Future, saying the commitments in the Pact must be translated into national, regional and international action ahead of the 2028 review.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says the United Nations should lead efforts to resolve the Western Sahara issue, calling on member states to contribute to lasting solutions.

Namibia's mission at the United Nations has called for further efforts to address persistent funding challenges, reduce fragmentation and strengthen transparency and results-based management in the UN Development System (UNDS).
