Seven schools in the Hardap Region are set to strengthen their environmental education and tree-planting activities following the handover of gardening equipment sponsored by Swakop Uranium in commemoration of National Arbor Day 2026.

Swakop Uranium is implementing a project to protect Namibia's iconic Welwitschia plant through scientific research, monitoring and conservation initiatives.

The Welwitschia is one of Namibia's most distinctive plants, surviving for centuries in one of the world's harshest environments.

Swakop Uranium has highlighted its role beyond uranium production, with thousands of jobs, skills development, support for local businesses and community projects forming part of its broader nation-building role.
