Dr. Hoze Riruako, the leader of a faction of the OvaHerero Traditional Authority, has called for peace within the community of OvaHerero amidst a bitter leadership dispute. 

This weekend saw both factions congregating in Okahandja for two separate Red Flag Day commemorations.

Miss Namibia 2023, Jameela |Uiras crowned her successor at a glitzy event at the Luderitz Waterfront, where ten contestants competed for the national crown.

Prisca Anyolo has been crowned Miss Namibia 2024, with Lenna Mugena taking the title of 1st runner-up and Georgia Garises securing 2nd runner-up.

The event celebrated the outstanding grace and talent of these young women, with Prisca leading the way as the new face of Namibian beauty.

Luderitz businesswoman Linda Loose has presented, as a token of appreciation, handcrafted necklaces to each finalist for Miss Teen and Miss Namibia before the crowning ceremonies. 

Loose herself handcrafted the necklaces from semi-precious agate stones. 

Elaine Engelbrecht was crowned Miss Teen 2024 at a glittering ceremony held at Luderitz last night. 

Winning the Miss Teen title was an overwhelming and emotional moment for 15-year-old Engelbrecht, a student at Centaurus High School.

Family, friends, and members of St. John Faith Mission Church gathered to celebrate the first anniversary of the passing of the late Archbishop Petrus Tjijombo in Windhoek. 

The commemoration was a joyous one, supported by brass band performances and choirs from various churches. 

The City of Windhoek inaugurated its 25th Junior Council on Friday, where Ginel Goagoseb was elected Mayor, deputised by Anchor Hoebeb.

The junior council is the consignment of a leadership programme for young people to become great leaders in the future.
