Namibia prepared for possible polio outbreak

This comes after stakeholders participated in a three-day Polio Simulation Exercise in Windhoek.

Namibia had its first Polio Simulation Exercise in 2018.

The United Arab Emirates says it is willing to support Namibia in opening a diplomatic mission in the Gulf state.

Mahash Saeed Alhameli, the UAE Ambassador to Namibia, based in South Africa, paid a courtesy call on President Hage Geingob on the margins of the state visit in Pretoria.

Namibia approves N$1.8 million in humanitarian aid to Malawi

Namibia has approved about N$1.8 million (US$100,000) in humanitarian aid to Malawi following a request from that country for the rehabilitation of the victims of Tropical Cyclone Freddy last month. According to the United Nations, about US$70 million is needed to rehabilitate the country.

The project aims at promoting health and early detection as well as identifying factors that contribute to breast and prostate cancer.
