President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed broadcast journalist Jonas Mbambo as Press Secretary and Spokesperson of the Presidency.

The appointment is effective from the 1st of August.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says the late Lazarus !Guiteb’s commitment to the struggle against apartheid marks him as one of the stalwarts of Namibia’s internal resistance.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah paid tribute to the late !Guiteb, who died on Tuesday, July 15, aged 83.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will be launching the 6th National Development Plan (NDP6) on Monday. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called for a change in mindset and attitude among public servants and the adoption of a basic-needs and service-excellence approach.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has expressed appreciation for the European Union’s continued support toward Namibia’s development, particularly in agriculture, energy, governance, and education.

The government has announced a moratorium on official funerals.

This decision was made during the 11th cabinet meeting, held on Tuesday and chaired by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. 

Namibia and Ireland have reaffirmed full commitment to multilateralism, a rules-based international order, as well as the shared interest in the promotion of women's empowerment and peace initiatives.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called for urgent service delivery, stronger implementation of development programmes, and firm action against corruption.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is yet to address the nation on the first 100 days of her administration and says she is ready.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah mentioned this as she urged the regional governors to set a new tone of governance and to engage with the civil servants.

The Public Service Commission has affirmed its support for President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's vision for the development of the country, as well as the need for effective public administration.
