Beatrice Masilingi Reflects on a Challenging Year and Looks Towards the Future

Namibian sprinter Beatrice Masilingi has described 2023 as a year filled with both ups and downs, encompassing a range of experiences and emotions.

The 20-year-old athlete, known for her impressive performances in the 200m and 400m sprints, has been residing, training, and competing in South Africa since last year under the Newton Sport Agency.

Recently, Masilingi returned home to Namibia and participated in the Nedbank Youth Summit, where she shared her journey to stardom and the challenges she has encountered along the way.

Mboma and Masilingi unite to promote food nutrition in schools and communities

Namibia's two Olympians, Christine Mboma and Beatrice Masilingi, united to promote food nutrition in schools and communities. 

29 schools have so far benefited from the homegrown school feeding initiative by the United Nations World Food Program in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture. 

The project aims to support school feeding programs with nutritious meals. 

The ||Kharas, Hardap, Kunene, and Zambezi regions benefited from the project, and the WFP has pledged to continue the food project in another 29 schools.
