A budget of over N$108 million has been allocated towards the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare's Child Care and Social Protection programme to address violence against children.

The ministry received a total budget of N$473 million for the 2025-26 financial year.

EU Ambassador to Namibia Ana Beatriz Martins made the announcement during the launch of the programme at Mix Settlement, on the outskirts of Windhoek.

Say No to Drugs campaign tackles scourge of drug abuse

A drug and alcohol awareness campaign was held at J.A. Nel Secondary School at Keetmanshoop in efforts to tackle the scourge of drug abuse, especially among young people.
