The Founder and Executive Director of the National Youth Climate Action Network of Namibia, Toini Amutenya, has called on the youth to establish fora and join networks in their respective communities that speak to the climate change agenda.

She made the call in an interview with nbc News at the National Youth Climate Change Summit in Windhoek.

The Summit aims to give youth a platform to talk about how their lives are affected by climate change.

UDFYL embarks on mission to revive youth league structures

The United Democratic Front of Namibia Youth League (UDFYL) has embarked on a mission to revive the youth league structures, which have been dormant for the past 15 years.

The youth league held an elective conference to decide the next wing's executives to represent the party come 2024.

The conference at Okahandja was attended by members from Tsumeb, Grootfontein, Otavi, and Otjiwarongo.

Michael Skini, UDF Youth League Secretary General, said they are on a journey to revive all 32 branches.

The three-day 'Unmatched Youth Conference' concluded today at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region.

99 youth participants from the Kavango West Region's eight constituencies participated in the conference.
 
Themed 'Awaken your unmatched potential', the event started on Monday and ran for a period of three days.

During the closing session, the Deputy Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service, Emma Kantema-Gaomas, said her Ministry was passionate about youth development and applauded the organisers for creating the platform.

The Kavango West Region is hosting an Unmatched Youth Conference aimed at educating the youth on various aspects of entrepreneurship to uncover their potential.

It is being hosted under the theme 'Awaken Your Unmatched Potential'.

Kavango West Regional Governor Sirkka Ausiku, who officially opened the conference, explained the platform will help identify aspiring entrepreneurs and unlock their potential to be able to help themselves.

The Kavango West Regional Council continues to place youth empowerment among its priorities.

Governor Sirkka Ausiku, in her State of the Region Address (SORA) at Nkurenkuru, pointed out various programmes and initiatives geared towards youth empowerment.

The governor says the regional council supports 26 horticulture projects and is calling on financial institutions to invest more in agriculture.

Ausiku also called on the Nkurenkuru Town Council to introduce more urban agriculture, which she says has the potential to reduce youth unemployment.
