Food security is possible in Namibia through local production, as long as farmers are offered the necessary financial and technical support.

This was the core message echoed during the World Food Day commemoration held at Uukwiyu wuushona village in the Oshana Region.

In a speech read on his behalf, Agriculture Minister Carl Schlettwein said there is a need for global solidarity and action to transform agri-food systems towards better resilience and sustainability.
