Some residents of Kongola Village in the Zambezi Region were left homeless after rain, accompanied by strong winds destroyed their homesteads.

The villagers are now concerned that the situation might worsen as the rainy season is still far from over.

The strong winds have blown off the roofs of many houses in the area.

One of the villagers, Collins Kalyanga's house was destroyed, but fortunately, no one was inside.

Kalyanga appealed to good Samaritans to assist him and his family with whatever they can and said it will be highly appreciated.

Several families in five villages in Kavango East's Ndiyona Constituency were left homeless after a rainstorm destroyed their houses.

Some of those affected include pensioners, who now need assistance to rebuild their homes.

The rainy season is here, and many villagers who are dependent on their crop fields for food are excited.

But it is welcomed with mixed feelings by the residents of Katere, Hoha, and Rucara villages, who lost many belongings in a recent thunderstorm.

The fears of the residents of Oshitenda were confirmed yesterday when heavy rains poured down and flooded their houses.

Those who built their homes in river beds and on the edges are the ones who are affected.
