The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security,  Dr. Albert Kawana is confident the 24-hour operations of the Trans-Kalahari and Mamuno Border Post will help revive the economies of Namibia and Botswana.

Dr. Kawana made this remark at the launch of the 24-hour operation of the Trans Kalahari / Mamuno border post at Buitepost in the Omaheke.

Forty-six stateless individuals in Omitara Settlement receive national documents

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security has registered 46 stateless Namibian nationals at the Omitara settlement in the Omaheke Region.

Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security Minister Dr Albert Kawana said at the handing over of the identification documents that the ministry strives to serve as many people as possible and that being stateless prevents people from accessing much-needed services.

SAN members celebrate 30th anniversary

President Hage Geingob has commended the work of the Security Association of Namibia for maintaining law and order.

The association marked its 30th anniversary today.

Members of the Security Association marched through the streets of Windhoek in celebration of the anniversary.

In a speech read on his behalf, President Hage Geingob commended the work of security companies in protecting properties as well as in maintaining law and order.

AU Commission Chairperson urges Africa to curb foreign aid and stimulate peace

The Chairperson of the African Union says Africa must create wealth amongst its people as a tool to curb foreign aid and stimulate peace.

Moussa Faki Mahamat says the need to embrace African ideas on issues facing the continent is also critical to attaining transformation across all spheres of life.

Mahamat also raised concern about the unconstitutional seizure of political power in Africa, saying although success has been achieved in restoring peace across Africa, concerns still exist.
