The African Union has set up a youth wing as part of an organ known as the Panel of the Wise, which aims to curb issues of conflict, instability, and violence through dialogue and mediation in all countries.

The new wing, Wise-Youth-Africa Network, which was established through a decision of the 35th meeting of Heads of State in February this year, will allow young people to play a central role in conflict mediation and prevention.
