ECN gives input on the drafting of the Electoral Amendment Bill

The Electoral Commission of Namibia is holding a consultative workshop with stakeholders for scrutiny and input on the drafting of the Electoral Amendment Bill.

This is the second consultative workshop on the Electoral Amendment Bill held by the Electoral Commission of Namibia, following the first in September.

ECN's Chairperson Elsie Nghikembua says the review is in line with good governance, and the public will also be given an opportunity to make input.

ECN has announced the duly nominated candidates for the Moses ||Garoëb constituency

JUST IN | The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has announced the duly nominated candidates for the Moses ||Garoëb constituency by-election on the 06th of January, 2023.

The public and political parties had an opportunity to nominate their representatives from November 8th through November 23rd, 2022.

929 eligible voters register during Supplementary Registration of Voters in Windhoek's Moses ||Garoeb Constituency

A total of 929 eligible voters have registered during the Supplementary Registration of Voters in Windhoek's Moses ||Garoeb Constituency, bringing the provisional voter roll number to 42,135.

619 duplicate voter registration cards have been issued.

The Electoral Commission of Nambia conducted the exercise from October 31 to November 2, and the Provisional Voters Register will be displayed for public scrutiny and objections tomorrow at the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency Office.

The final voter roll will be available on December 2.

Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC countries to host 24th Annual General conference

The Electoral Commission of Namibia, in collaboration with the Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC countries, will be hosting its 24th Annual General Conference in Swakopmund.

Over the past 23 years, the Forum has consistently hosted seminars on various current issues pertaining to democracy and elections.
