The Ministry of Health and Social Services has appealed to all health districts to enhance and reactivate all COVID-19 testing sites and encourage communities to get tested.

The Health Ministry indicated that the current epidemiological data shows a low testing rate countrywide, while the positivity rate is steadily increasing.

This is what Executive Director Ben Nangombe says could point to an increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the communities, which can only be proven by increasing testing.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism has developed a 2022–2024 National Tourism Sector Recovery Plan to revive the sector from the effects of the COVID–19 pandemic.

Its Deputy Minister Heather Sibungo announced this at the official opening of the Tourism Expo in the capital. 

The recovery plan sets out a national framework for a strategic approach to the recovery process with required policy intervention, strategic programs, and activities aimed at rebooting the sector post-COVID-19.
