Retired Educational Director in Zambezi Region makes first court appearance

Innocent Mahoto, a 78-year-old retired Director of Education in the Zambezi Region, appeared before Katima Mulilo Magistrate Davy Kambinda for the first time.

He is facing charges related to rape.

Mahoto stands accused of raping a 16-year-old girl who is a learner at one of the local schools in the Zambezi Region.

It is alleged that he had a sexual relationship with her from December 2022 to March 2023.

Men in the Christian community called to take part in church activities

The director and founder of the Universal Living Rosary Association of St. Philomena in Namibia, Kenandjo Utoni, has called on men in the Christian community to take part in church activities to strengthen the importance of preventing, solving, and contributing to the reduction of social ills and nonproductive activities in society.

The director says men are absent where they are needed most—in their spiritual and social responsibilities in issues of nation-building.
