The director and founder of the Universal Living Rosary Association of St. Philomena in Namibia, Kenandjo Utoni, has called on men in the Christian community to take part in church activities to strengthen the importance of preventing, solving, and contributing to the reduction of social ills and nonproductive activities in society.

The director says men are absent where they are needed most—in their spiritual and social responsibilities in issues of nation-building.

Utoni made the remarks during an interview with nbc News at a conference held at the Roman Catholic church's Tamariskia parish, in Swakopmund in Erongo Region, last weekend.

She pointed out that even though women are spiritually accepting, men's lack of responsibility is a bone of contention, hence the serious need to engage men to win their hearts to take part in nation-building activities.

The Universal Living Rosary Association of St. Philomena was founded 196 years ago, and its Namibian branch is 15 years old.
