RDP MP queries Minister on challenges for farmers beyond red line

The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) MP Kennedy Shekupakela questioned the Minister of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform regarding the challenges faced by farmers beyond the Red Line. 

He highlighted the struggles encountered in establishing essential structures, implementing effective fencing, and securing access to water resources.

Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) leader McHenry Venaani pointed out the severity of the issue, saying crop farmers in regions face uncertainty due to a lack of rainfall.

MPs call for the reduction of seal population to protect fish stock

The increase in the number of seals in the population threatens the fish species in the Namibian waters, hence the need to control them.

Motivating his motion in the National Assembly, RDP leader Mike Kavekotora says a balance needs to be found to protect fish species for human consumption and the conservation of seals.

Situated on the southwestern coast of Africa along the Atlantic Ocean, Namibia is one of the countries endowed with aquatic resources, predominantly fish of various types.

Opposition MPs say Medium Term budget does not address issues facing the youth

Opposition MPs in the National Assembly said the medium-term budget does not address issues facing the youth, nor does the government have concrete plans to tackle unemployment and housing.

RDP President Mike Kavekotora says he is worried that the biggest portion of the budget is earmarked for operational expenditures.

The MPs argued that the money was supposed to have been allocated to address the pressing needs of ordinary citizens.
