Nekundi moves motion to write off NSFAF loans

The Deputy Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, has moved a motion to discuss the possibility of incentivising the Namibian Student Financial Assistance Fund loan beneficiaries to boost entrepreneurship and job creation for the youth.

The unemployment rate in the country has been reported and estimated to be increasing daily, with the youth being the most affected, even after they have graduated.

In their contributions, several MPs highlighted the gravity of the situation, suggesting immediate action to address the injustices that they agreed that banks subject clients to.

Transport Deputy visits at NATIS offices in the Oshana and Omusati

Works and Transport Deputy Minister Veikko Nekundi had a series of familiarisation visits at NATIS offices and facilities in the Oshana and Omusati regions.

He also made a stopover at the Tsandi-Omugulugwombashe gravel road, which is vital as it leads to the Omungulu-Gwombashe national heritage site, where the first shot to commence the armed liberation struggle was fired and where heroes, heroines, and veterans of the liberation struggle are buried.

Opposition parties walk out again

Opposition parties again walked out of the National Assembly in protest of what they termed the bias of the Speaker in the way he handled parliament.

Upon resumption of the house this afternoon, NUDO MP Joseph Kauandenge stood up and registered the discontentment of opposition party members, saying all of them will walk out of the National Assembly until the Speaker, Peter Katjavivi, provides an explanation for yesterday's situation in the house.

Kauandenge stressed that they are disturbed by the Speaker's bias, which is against the oath he took when assuming his office.
