Utuseb's JP Brandt Primary School hostel gets a facelift

The JP Brandt Primary School hostel, located at Utuseb in the Namib desert, has undergone a facelift worth N$1.2 million.

Principal Anna Josti says since it was built 45 years ago, no major renovations have been done on the school and hostel, located 40 kilometres from Walvis Bay.

Rossing Uranium, Pack Safari, Rent a Drum, NIMT and Namdock are among the companies that sponsored the renovations of the dining hall, dormitory blocks, school garden, and the construction of a playground and boundary wall.

Topnaar community in Erongo pleads for a vocational training center

The Topnaar community in the Erongo Region is in need of a vocational training center, as well as other private educational institutions that could cater to the youth.

This was raised by a member of the community association, Albertus Kooitjie, during a community engagement meeting hosted by the Topnaar Community Association at Utuseb.

Utuseb is a small settlement situated in the Namib Desert, approximately 40 kilometers from Walvis Bay, on the banks of the Kuiseb River.
