Oshikoto Police obtains DNA samples from two murder suspects who are mentally disturbed

The Oshikoto Police has obtained DNA samples from two suspects who are mentally disturbed, in connection with a murder and rape case of an 80-year-old woman.

The murder occurred on Wednesday at Omainda Village in the Omuthiya Constituency.

It is alleged that the suspect attacked the deceased with a panga while she was busy cutting camelthorn trees, with the aim to mend her fence a few meters from her house. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that Elina Samuel sustained deep-cut wounds on the back of her head and died instantly.  

Oshikoto Police investigate murder of a two-year-old toddler

Police in the Oshikoto Region are investigating the murder of a two-year-old toddler.

The incident took place on December 3 at about 20:45 in Ohainghete village, Nehale Lyampingana Constituency.

It is alleged that a seven-year-old boy was left alone in a house with a two-year-old girl, and the boy put sand in the girl's mouth and eyes and killed her instantly.

The boy then covered the corpse with a blanket and hid it in a hut.

He went on to inform some other children, who were at that time collecting firewood, of what had transpired.
