Two accused police officers remanded in custody following brief court appearance

Meanwhile, the Police Officers implicated in the death of Elleste Plaatjies were remanded in police custody following their brief court appearance in the Keetmanshoop magistrate's Court. 

The officers, attached to the Police Special Reserve Force, Bernard Mulisa and Wilbard Neshuku aged thirty-one and twenty-five years old respectively, were charged with murder and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. 

State Prosecutor Lewis Chigunwe opposed granting bail to the suspects. 

Man accused of murder of his stepson pleads not guilty

The 29-year-old man accused of kidnapping and murdering his five-year-old stepson, Wilfred Dantani Eiseb, has pleaded not guilty in the Walvis Bay Magistrate's Court today.

Riddick |Narib, who was arrested over the weekend in connection with the death of Eiseb, remains in police custody.

A passerby allegedly discovered Eiseb's body half buried in a sand dune on the outskirts of Narraville and notified the police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Eiseb was allegedly taken by his stepfather from a tuck shop in Johanna Benson Street, Tutaleni.

Four senior employees of Frebeca Fishing arrested for alleged illegal fishing

Four senior employees of the company Frebeca Fishing appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate's Court on charges of illegal fishing.

Frebeca Fishing Director George Wyne Hart, Fleet Manager Noel Jankowitz, General Manager Yvette Greef, and Captain Michael Schieffer Wenzel are the alleged culprits.

The group appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate's Court on Friday, charged with fishing without valid permits.

Each was granted N$50,000 bail, and their case was rescheduled for February 20 of next year.
