Dumping sewage at Rundu Beach stalls business

Sewage removal and water supply business owners at Rundu are unhappy with the order by the local town council for them to stop fetching water at the Rundu beach.

This, they claim, will severely affect their business.

The water supply business owners have been fetching water at Rundu Beach and supplying it to settlements around the town without tap water.

The business owners claim that the water at Rundu Beach is much cleaner than that in other parts of the river.

Rundu Beach to get facelift

Rundu Beach, a popular recreational spot in the regional capital of Kavango East, is about to get a facelift.

Plans are in the pipeline to construct a high-end market facility.

Two years ago, parts of Rundu Beach looked like swamps without any prospects of attracting investors.

That was until a local company, Namibia Investment Contacts, came into the picture with the idea of adding value to the swamp.

Machines and equipment were brought in, and earthwork commenced.

Rundu Residents Celebrate New Year's Countdown at Rundu Beach

Rundu Beach drew a crowd for the New Year's Eve countdown after being closed for two years due to COVID-19.

The joyful crowd described their delight at being back at the popular hangout spot. 

Operation Boots on the Ground, which began on December 16th, began early Saturday morning, and Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu described the operation as successful.
