Saturday night was one to remember as the Miss Namibia Organisation put on a glamorous show in the capital, Windhoek.

Not only that but there was diversity in both beauty pageant contestants and those on the carpet.

It was all fun and glamour under the blue lights.

During the preliminary round, 30 beauty pageant contestants competed for the first ten spots.

The rest are appreciated for their participation, and they can always try next time.

This year's Miss Namibia was more inclusive than ever before, thanks to the organisers for going all out to the regions, which allowed more aspiring ones to test the waters.

At the top of the current and previous organisers' heads, this is the first time that Miss Namibia had contestants from two rare occupations.

24-year-old Hildegard Abisai, who is a security officer at G4 Namibia, and Vezel Tsaes, a police officer, while most of the contestants are full- and part-time entrepreneurs.

After showing off their wear and brains, only ten remained at the end of the preliminary round as top finalists.

These are Ausha Abrahams from Keetmanshoop, Sashmida Eiases from Windhoek, Albertina Haimbala from Mount Etjo, Lidia Simon from Windhoek, Jameela Uiras from Windhoek, Martha Kautanevali from Ohangwena, Aina Nghipuilepo from Walvis Bay, Jénica Engelbrecht from Walvis Bay, Lency Kuhanga from Otjinene, and Biolla Uzera from Grootfontein

They will now battle it out for the title of Miss Namibia 2023 on the 8th of July in Swakopmund.

Outgoing Miss Namibia 2022, Cassia Sharpley, handed over the sashes to the finalists.

The Miss Namibia preliminary selection was organised by the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation in partnership with Debmarine.
