The residents of Okahandja have reiterated their appeal to the council, urging them to revoke the decision to appoint Red Force Debt Collection.

They urgently request the Minister of Urban and Rural Development Minister Erastus Uutoni to intervene.

The residents staged another demonstration in the town, protesting against several issues.

These include the lack of face-to-face communication between the town council and the residents, as well as overall development concerns.

Community leader Petrus Kampaku said they have a problem in Okahandja and it needs attention from the minister.

"We want the minister to come because we have invited the councillors several times to listen to us and they did not do that, we have it on paper, we have proof of looking for the councillors so that we sit around the table and they failed. However, we are sure the minister will surely take a day off and come to us."

Kampaku reiterates his call to the town council, urging them to revoke the decision to appoint Red Force as the debt collector.

"It is imperative for our leaders to halt the involvement of Red Force immediately. Ignoring the concerns of the community only fuels their anger. During the previous demonstration, we waited for an extended period without anyone attending to us, which further intensified people's frustration."

Okahandja Councillor Charl Coetzee received the petition.

"I will see when I can arrange a meeting and only when they have confirmed that they will be here then we can come, however, we cannot address the people on the ministry's behalf because we do not know what his opinion is."
