All Social Security Commission (SSC) services will soon become easily accessible to residents of Otjiwarongo and the surrounding areas as the commission initiates the construction of the Otjiwarongo Regional Office.

The construction of the state-of-the-art building, with a budget of N$20 million, has already commenced and is expected to be completed by August of next year.

Travelling long distances will not only be something of the past for residents of Otjiwarongo but also for those of Okakarara, Outjo, Khorixas, Kalkfeld, and Kamanjab, as they mostly had to travel to Windhoek to access most of the SSC's services.

Additionally, the construction of the new office will contribute to the economic growth of the region as it will provide more employment opportunities.

The Otjiwarongo Social Security Commission Office building's construction started after the site of 862 square metres was handed over at the beginning of February.

The building constructors, David Iipinge Holding Constructors, are well on track, according to the architect, Kelly McNamara.

The SSC has 14 offices countrywide, six branches, and eight satellite offices.
