Residents, loved ones, and learners took to the streets to protest against the killing of an 18-year-old learner from Rundu.Sipilikita Alpo Malaka was shot and killed in Rundu's Millenium Park a week ago.

No one has been arrested yet. It was an emotional affair, with loved ones struggling to come to terms with the death of the grade 10 learner.Police reports say the 18-year-old was shot in the chest by an unknown person while walking in the street shortly after 22:00. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community of Rundu, with various young people fearing for their lives, especially since the suspect is still at large.

The protestors are calling for the police to speed up the investigation process, saying they want justice for the Rundu Senior Secondary School learner. Those who knew the deceased described him as a vibrant young man full of potential who touched the hearts of many in his community.

Receiving the petition on behalf of the Kavango East Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu called on residents of Millenium Park who might have seen or heard something that night to come forth.
