The |Khomas Regional Council held an award ceremony for the teachers in the region.
The awards are meant to recognise, appreciate, and honour all those who have contributed positively to education in the region.
Paulus Nghikembua, the |Khomas Region's director of education, described education as a calling that necessitates one's responsibility, obligation, and accountability.
"We could not do it in 2021, and we could also not do it last year, but this year we are doing it to acknowledge the work that you have done."
The award-giving ceremony is a sign of showing gratitude and blessings for the recognised teachers for the work well done and encouragement to do more.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this time of receiving these stones is now over, and we are in a time where we have a good story to tell ourselves and the world out there," said |Khomas Govenor.
McLoed Katjirua said it is time to collect all those stones and build a solid foundation and a pillar to plant our performance for the 2023 education year.
