The 19th edition of the highly anticipated Nedbank Desert Dash concluded on Saturday, leaving cyclists and spectators in awe of this bucket list event. Over 1000 cyclists embarked on a remarkable journey through the world's oldest desert, making it an experience to remember.

Once again, the Desert Dash lived up to its reputation as the longest single-stage mountain bike event in the world, attracting a large number of participants eager to test their endurance and push their limits.

The Namibia Cycling Federation was actively involved in the event, adding to the excitement and showing their unwavering support for the participants. Their presence added a sense of camaraderie and community spirit, further enhancing the overall experience.

In the men's solo category, Swiss rider Konny Looser showcased his exceptional skills and determination, reclaiming his position as the champion for the seventh time. Looser completed the challenging course in an impressive time of 14 hours, 52 minutes, and 16 seconds, solidifying his status as a formidable competitor.

The ladies' category witnessed an inspiring performance by Belinda van Rhyn, who secured her first solo title in only her second attempt at the Desert Dash. Van Rhyn's remarkable achievement was celebrated as she crossed the finish line after 18 hours, 47 minutes, and 40 seconds of grueling cycling.

Looking ahead, the anticipation for next year's event is already building, as it promises to be an extraordinary celebration of 20 years of desert cycling in this format.
