With just two weeks remaining until the due date for the MTC Sim card registrations, some residents of Kavango East still stand in excruciatingly long lines to have their numbers registered.

The residents are calling on MTC to provide services to those who are far away as the deadline fast approaches.

The MTC Rundu branch caters for all six constituencies in the Kavango East Region.

Residents claim that the staff is not enough to cater to everyone's needs for SIM card registration and other services.

"As you can see from the way people are sitting here, some have been here for three to four days without any help. Now we know that the system is off, and some of these people are coming from Nyangana. Gciriku is paying for their transport up to here and going back, and tomorrow they must come. Now why should people suffer like this? Tim Ekantjo must do something; he must bring those mobile teams back."
